What is AMRC?
The Alford Memorial Radio Club (AMRC) is Atlanta's premier Amateur
Radio club. The AMRC is an amateur radio club that provides many
communication and educational services to the entire Atlanta community.
We also provide emergency support with the DeKalb County ARES group and
offer CaVEc sponsored Amateur Radio licensing test sessions.
The club's flagship repeater, 146.760, was the first 2M repeater in the
Atlanta area and is positioned on top of Stone Mountain, Atlanta's
famous landmark. The AMRC also sponsors two other W4BOC analog FM
repeaters operating on the frequencies of 145.450, 224.760 at Exchange
Park in East Atlanta. A Motorola DMR repeater is also located on top of
Stone Mountain, operating on 441.8125+, color code 1. A Yaesu DR-2X
System Fusion repeater on 444.250+, PL 131.8 in AMS mode is now in
place at the Exchange Park site.
Our club hosts Field Day the 4th full weekend in June and also the
largest Hamfest in Georgia on the first full weekend in November every
year. The Hamfest is known as the Stone Mountain Hamfest and is held at
the Lawrenceville, GA Fairgrounds on Sugarloaf Parkway.
