
Amateur Radio Licensing Exams to be offered in the Stone Mountain area
The Alford Memorial Radio Club is pleased to announce that amateur radio license testing sessions in the Stone Mountain area will be offered on a monthly basis.
The sessions will be offered every third Saturday of each month, so the next ones will be May 16, June 20, July 18 and on from there..
Start time will be 0830.
Location is the Stone Mountain Masonic Lodge located at 840 VFW Drive, Stone Mountain, GA 30086. From Memorial Drive, go east on W Mountain St, then right on Gordon St just past the Post Office, left on Cloud St, right on VFW Dr. Ample parking is available at the Lodge or across the street. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.
Candidates should arrive with
Your FCC FRN number. If you don’t have an FRN number, you can get one at https://apps.fcc.gov/coresWeb/
Existing Amateur Radio License (if currently licensed)
Any previously-issued CSCE from any VEC (if upgrading your license and the FCC has yet to reflect your new license class)
Proof of previous license if your license has expired and you’re re-taking the Technician exam to grandfather your previous license.
Acceptable government issued ID. Minors must be accompanied by someone with a valid ID and have some document with the minor’s ID.
The testing session is free. Your licensing fee will be requested by the FCC when you submit your application
